Instructional message? That's news to me. As a musician, I always thought the conductor was doing an interpretive dance for the aurally-impaired. (Heh.)

Well, I do not think that Mr. Zappa was seriously trying to describe the reality of the situation in terms of facts. Rather, the aurally-impaired could appreciate this much better, though.
